Abstract

This article examines the notions of mariage blanc and mariage gris in contemporary French law from a conceptual and discursive perspective. Although frequently used in institutional and judicial discourse, these notions are not explicitly codified. Based on a corpus drawn mainly from case law available on the Légifrance database, the study highlights their pragmatic function in the assessment of facts and their differing degrees of discursive integration. The analysis reveals the hybrid and operational nature of these notions, situated at the intersection of legal language and institutional practice.
